Blinds & Awnings for Southdowns Estate
Southdowns' newer luxury builds lean toward frameless glass and clean architectural lines — which calls for shading that disappears as completely as the frames do.
New-build architecture, planned from the ground up
Southdowns Estate sits just south of Irene and Cornwall Hill, a short run from Copperleaf, and its housing stock skews newer than most of the estates we serve — a lot of double-storey, architect-designed homes with large uninterrupted glazing rather than a patchwork of smaller windows. That's exactly the kind of build where concealed, ceiling-recessed blinds earn their premium: fabric drops from a slim slot, hardware fully hidden, and the window reads as pure glass and frame when the blind is up.
Because so much of that build happened recently, this is also the area where we do the most work directly with builders and architects during the drawing stage — recess depths, motor power points and pelmet coordination are far easier to plan before the ceiling goes up than to retrofit afterward.
Estate architectural guidelines apply here too, and on new builds it's often simplest to settle finishes at the same time as the rest of the fit-out — worth raising with your consultant early.

Products we fit most often here
- Concealed, motorised blinds planned in at the building stage
- Sunscreen roller blinds for wide, uninterrupted glazing
- External venetian blinds on architecturally exposed elevations
- Folding-arm awnings over designed-in entertainment terraces
